Earthing strap | stranded wire
Earthing straps, also known as stranded wires, are flexible electrical connections. These copper connecting elements are available in different lengths and designs – flat or round. The main features of earthing straps made from braided copper wires are their extraordinary flexibility and high mechanical strength. This enables use even under demanding environmental conditions with strong vibrations.
The interweaving of copper wires gives the earthing straps their exceptional flexibility, allowing them to handle bends and movements easily without compromising performance. Coupled with the mechanical strength to withstand vibration and mechanical stresses, earthing straps are ideal for applications with strong vibrations, such as in industrial systems and moving systems.
Areas of application for earthing straps
Earthing straps are often used as grounding straps or earthing cables to ensure the dissipation of static charges and thus the safety of systems. The copper structure of the earthing straps enables the efficient dissipation of electrical charges.
Earthing straps play a decisive role in the specific application of current collectors in CDC technology (cathode dip coating). CDC technology is used in surface coating to protect metal parts from corrosion. Earthing straps not only ensure a reliable power supply, but also a flexible connection that can follow the different movements of the parts during the coating process.
We have a wide range of different types of earthing straps in our delivery programme to meet the individual needs of our customers. This includes customised solutions in which we configure the earthing straps according to the specific requirements of our customers.
